Ecohumanist society and population

In the past 200 years the global population grew in an incredibly short time from 1 billion in 1800 to 6.8 billion in 2010. And it’s still growing.

So it is expected that by mid-21st century, population increases to 9 to 10 billion. Military conflicts due to drastic increase in the number of economic and ecological migrants and the impending shortage of vital natural resources, are already programmed. And if to all this we add the negative consequences of climate changes, we can already imagine what comes up to our grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Representation of intended distribution of the world population and probable migration movements by the year 2100 if our social development continues like right now.

The ecohumanist society is fully aware that the development and survival of mankind depends on the environment and not vice versa. Our planet can ask in the long run no more than four billion people a useful habitat. That ensures human existence, society to build useful development in peace and lead individual’s contented life.

The blue curve shows the unstoppable growth of the global human population. It’s absolutely impossible for the environment and any kind of existing social system to be able to sustain this kind of situation in a long run.

The red curve shows a very possible scenario that could happen in the middle of the 21st century if we keep moving in the direction of a social development that’s harmful for us and the planet. Overpopulation, economic and social collapse, social unrest, global wars, natural catastrophes and diseases will dictate further fate of mankind. The consequence of all this will be a steep decline in global population and the descendants will need to live and survive in an extremely hostile environment.

While the green curve shows an increase of global population to 9 billion by the middle of this century, the positive actions of the ecohumanist social order and establishment of the planetary union can make it possible for mankind to battle and overcome all problems and in the future to gradually reduce the number of population in an acceptable 2-3 billion people.
