101 Reasons Why We Need a New World Order: Ecohumanism

Posted on | February 12, 2011 by Benjamin Dovecar

Reason #1: Because as mankind we have no vision, no goal and no idea what we really want.

We must build an entirely new world that will defy changes of the climate and guarantee optimal chances for survival. A world aimed toward the future. A world that we all deserve: a humanist, socially just and ecologically responsible world. An ecohuman world.

Reason #2: Because we will eat up this planet before our descendants can get a taste of it.

The ecohumanist society is aware how urgent it is to take personal moral commitment towards future generations. Its social development is founded on strong moral decisions and mutual planning for the good of the people and nature.

Reason #3: Because we rob and destroy the environment at such speed that we would need 2.5 planets — not one — if we want to survive in a long term.

To the ecohumanist society, one planet is more than enough because it is a society that evolves works and lives like nature: modest in needs and rich in life. That’s a recipe for long-term success worthy of mimicking.

Reason #4: Because we don’t identify ourselves with the planet. We are everything: Slovenians, Japanese, Americans, Russians, Angolans, Peruvians, Chinese, Australians, Iranians… Only we aren’t what we really are. Inhabitants of this planet. Terrans.

Ecohumanist society accepts the planet as its home and mankind as its family. This kind of thinking enables it to create the present that doesn’t destroy but builds a better future.

Reason #5: Because 193 countries means just as many different interests, disagreements and potential conflicts. A world like that has no future.

A united world is not a utopia of the present but an urgency of today. A voluntary unification of countries into a Planetary Union is a mature act that enables mankind create the conditions for living in lasting peace and freedom. Ecohumanist society offers conditions for building such a world.

Reason #6:Because we should no longer allow that a genocide over nature and people in individual countries continues to be treated like an internal affair.

With the voluntary unification of countries into a Planetary Union, all country borders are to be abolished. With this brave act the society makes a big step towards a higher level of its evolution, enabling it to take responsibility towards mankind and all natural wealth which the planet creates day after day and offers it for free to everybody.

Reason #7: Because we still allow the horrors of war to spread around the planet.

Common belief that we are forever doomed to wage wars and that a world of peace is only a utopia, a false hope of mankind, is something that ecohumanist society categorically denies. Ecohumanist society has better work to do than wage wars. It cares for the benefit of everybody within the boundaries of possibilities that the planet offers.

Reason # 8 : Because we invest more into killing people than protecting them.

Ecohumanist society is a demilitarized society. It abolished factories for production of all types of weapons and directs its potential into: protection of people from natural disasters, cleaning of the planet, protection of the Earth from comets and into research of the Solar System in the near future as well as research of the outer space in the distant future.

Reason #9: Because certain psychopathic dictators and terrorists who exploit, torture and kill civilian population, must be thrown where they belong: into the ash heap of history.

Ecohumanist society does not allow the minority to instill fear and dictate the fate of majority. Ecohuman society is a society ruled by the will of majority. And the majority wants non-violence and peace, a world peace.

Reason #10: Because the conflicts due to climate change, shortage of drinking water and natural resources as well as social tensions will continue to intensify and end in a total war.

Ecohumanism is a social order that allows mankind to solve its social and environmental problems in a peaceful way.
To live in peace is an inalienable right of an individual as well as all people of the ecohumanist society. Starting and leading wars is considered a crime against humanity.

Reason #11: Because people who govern and get rich on the account of the existing social system are telling us that there is no alternative. That capitalism is the only system that guarantees progress and development.

There is an alternative for everything. In case of capitalism, the alternative is ecohumanism. A social order that builds its development on values that are unknown to capitalism: trust, justice, honesty, solidarity, equality and responsibility. The foundations of the ecohumanist society.

Reason #12: Because we allowed money to become the ruler of the world, ourselves its slaves and the environment its victim.

An ecohumanist society doesn’t occupy itself with money because it doesn’t have it, doesn’t want it, doesn’t need it and because it has a more sane and more important work to do than thinking about greed and envy. Instead, it builds a world of lasting development for the good of people and the environment. In this, money would be nothing but a damaging obstacle.

Reason #13: Because “profit before people” has become a motto of upbringing of present and future generations.

In the ecohumanist society where work — not money — is the leading force, a person is not valued by their wealth but respected by their honesty and diligence. It is a society where a promise and a handshake are worth much more than a piece of worthless paper and where the reward for work is not money but satisfaction in building together a world of a better future.

Reason #14: Because we don’t work for ourselves but for money.

Changes of the climate, lack of raw materials, destroyed environment, social unrest, overpopulation, mass migration of economic and environmental refugees as well as social changes are problems that we cannot solve with money. They can only be solved by a global society of mutual trust, unity and cooperation — the ecohumanist society.

Reason #15: Because corruption breeds nothing but poverty, ruin and death.
Because the ecohumanist society doesn’t work for money but for itself, for an individual, for the community and for preservation of the environment, the corruption cannot develop.

Reason #16: Because the existing social system is the El Dorado for breeding crime.

Where there is no money, there is nothing to steal, seize, trade with, smuggle and nobody to exploit. That is why the ecohumanist society knows no crime. Everybody gets and has everything he or she needs to live an honest and content life.

Reason #17: Because we are being intimidated and controlled by everybody: the state, banks, insurances, the economy, trade, terrorists and criminals.

Ecohumanist society doesn’t instill fear and doesn’t control its people because it doesn’t have a reason nor the need. Free from fear, threats and control, the society directs its entire creative potential into building of a world of unity, equality and solidarity.

Reason #18: Because every year we spend 20% more natural resources than the nature can reproduce in the same period.

If we continue like this, we will enter the 22nd century as an impoverished, divided and with wars overburdened society without a future.
Ecohumanist society is a complete opposite of today’s society. This allows it to build a world that is able to live in harmony with nature — a world with a future.

Reason #19: Because we have occupied and “cultivated” 50% of the land already.

We have “cultivated” it by cutting down almost all the forests, dried up the wetlands, turned biologically rich rivers into dead transportation channels, and covered the fertile soil with concrete and asphalt. In order to maintain our “cultivated” areas, we are drilling deeper and deeper, contaminating the environment and filling the atmosphere with toxic gases. We are really a “cultivated” society.
With the unification into the planetary union and abolishment of money, the ecohumanist society creates conditions that enable it to re-urbanize the planet in a way so it can live in harmony with nature. Ecohumanist society does not rob nature in order to trade and get rich with its resources. This society benefits from nature like all other living beings on Earth and that is why it does not need more than 15% of land to satisfy its long-term living conditions.
This is an accomplishment that makes the ecohumanist society especially proud of its actions.

Reason #20: Because 1 billion people are suffering from lack of water

Water is an invaluable source of life. The ecohumanist society guarantees all people permanent supply of drinking water and cares for its just distribution and cleanliness.

Reason #21: Because hundreds of millions of people are already dying from the consequences of air pollution.

This number will only rise under the rule of greed, irresponsibility, indifference and unreadiness of all to do something against this lunacy.
Clean air means life and that’s why the ecohumanist society does not wait but takes action and creates conditions that allow mankind  to clean up the atmosphere of harmful gases with the help of nature.

Reason #22: Because every 6th person on the planet dies from the consequences of the polluted environment.

This alarming state is unacceptable for the ecohumanist society. That is why it builds a social system that does not pollute the basic elements of life: air, water and earth.

Reason #23: Because we have got to stop asking ourselves how much oil, coal and uranium we have left and instead we have to immediately start reducing their consumption.

A society that works for money will use up the last drop of oil, last chunk of coal and last stick of uranium with no regard for the damaging consequences of such actions. Even more — the society trades with its harmful emissions and waste. Instead of solving the problem, it trades with it because it doesn’t know any better. This is fatal.
On the contrary, a society that doesn’t work for money but for itself can focus on an alternative development without restrictions. This is the type of development that isn’t based on consumption of fossil resources but on the usage of limitless sources of energy: sun, wind and water. This is the ecohumanist society.

Reason #24:Because every year we lose fertile soil the size of Switzerland due to overexpansive and inefficient construction, wrong farming policies and erosion of the soil.

Ecohuman society shapes its urban environment by building residential and industrial units, using ground of little value. Quality land is used for agricultural purposes.

Reason #25:Because we are turning the fertile Earth into a deserted Mars.

That’s exactly what could happen — each year, we already lose 28 billion tonnes of fertile soil because of wind and water erosion.
To fight against the spreading of the deserts, the ecohumanist society makes them green and changes them into modern and energy-efficient urban settlements that are suitable for long-term favorable living.

Reason #26: Because we could provide food for the entire humanity with only 30% of cultivable land if we stopped eating animals.

The ecohumanist society gives priority to foods based on vegetables because it is aware that the mass breeding of slaughter cattle destroys the biosphere of the planet, consumes huge amounts of energy, and that a long-term consumption of meat harms human health.

Reason #27: Because every year we cut down forests the size of Austria and Switzerland combined.

If we continue to destroy forests with this intensity, almost the entire rainforest will disappear from the face of the Earth already in this century. We are going to cause damage that can’t be repaired and revived.
The goal of the ecohumanist society is to enable forests to grow to such extension that they can once again function the way nature intended: to work as a gigantic cleaning mechanism of water and air, to protect land from erosion, to offer natural shelter to numerous animal species, to supply us with wood and fruits in a long run, to produce natural remedies and much more — all this at no cost and forever.

Reason #28: Because the number of natural disasters has increased 8 fold in the past 40 years — and that’s just the beginning.

Today’s society with its social system that is based on disunity, irresponsibility and carelessness simply won’t be able to solve the accumulated of climate change.
That’s why need a society that won’t underestimate the coming climate issues. That kind of society acts in prevention, works socially united, environmentally responsibly and most of all — it doesn’t want until the problems grow into an uncontrollable danger. This is the ecohumanist society. A society whose social system enables it to adapt to climate change and confront its problems in a long run.

Reason #29: Because we are turning oceans into toxic mud.

Oceans and seas cover 71% of the planet’s surface. These are masses of water that actually made it possible for humans to develop under very favorable conditions — which we are now destroying. We are filling the coeans with garbage, toxins, chemicals, radioactive substances, fertilizers and all other waste of our “advanced” world.
The ecohumanist society is an ecologically responsible society that cleans up every liter of polluted water before it flows into the sea and each cubic meter of toxic substances before they enter the atmosphere.
The ecohumanist society takes care of the environment in the same way it takes care of itself because it’s aware that the survival of mankind depends on how we adapt to nature and not the other way around.

Reason #30: Because commercial fishing will empty and destroy the seas of the world.

Not only that we slaughter hundreds of millions of cattle per year, now we have eat everything that’s alive in the seas.
The ecohumanist society takes only as much fish and other sea animals as it needs for consumption. And that’s a lot less than today’s society that empties the seas for the purpose of trade and creating profit. Therefore, it keeps ecological stability, biodiversity and beauty of the underwater world for future generations.

Reason #31: Because 40% of animal and plant species are on the brink of extinction.

With every loss of an animal or plant species, a part of us dies as well. That’s why our goal should not be to keep nature under control but to preserve it and live with it in harmony.
And exactly this is the goal of the ecohumanist society to which biodiversity is as important as preserving its own human species.

Reason #32: Because we need to make peace with animals.

Gandhi stated that the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. An ecohumanist society lives by these principles.

Reason #33: Because we are about to get flooded with genetically manipulated plants.

But not with the goal to feed people but to rule over them. In a society that’s lacking moral values and ethical principles, everything is possible.
The ecohumanist society knows that nature creates only that what is optimally the best and most beneficial for everybody. That’s why it makes sure that natural, authentic plants are preserved and responsibly crossbred only under the condition that they are not harmful to nature, humans or animals.
The ecohumanist society does not trade with food — it feeds people.

Reason #34: Because 99% of our activities is linked to robbery of natural resources and destruction of the environment while only 1%  for preservation and protection.

While this ratio is damaging to nature, it hurts ourselves even more. And noboby, except a rare few, is prepared to do something concrete against it. Too much talk, too little action.
This is a mistake which the ecohumanist society cannot afford because it is aware of the catastrophic consequences for humanity if this harmful ratio of 99:1 continues into the future. That’s why the ecohumanist society strives to improve the ratio to 70:30 in the first phase, and to 40:60 by the end of the 21st century for the benefit of the environment and people.

Reason #35: Because we are acting like strangers towards this planet.

It’s been like this especially in the past 200 years. During this period, we have caused more damage than in all seven million years of human existence combined. We are robbing and destroying the planet with such haste as if we want to leave after 100 years and move elsewhere. But where? The Moon? Mars? Where?
The Earth is our home we share. The one and the most beautiful. The ecohumanist society knows this.

Reason #36: Because we’d rather be radioactive than economical.

If nuclear power plants account for just 19 % of all generated electricity in the world, then it’s absurd to say that nuclear energy will help us clean up the air on this planet. This is a big lie with a single goal: to make business with nuclear weapons. That’s the true reason for existence of the current and future planned nuclear power plants — and not the care for the air we breathe.
That’s why people who make and support such business should be brought to justice and tried for crimes against humanity. There really is no argument that could justify the radioactive pollution of our planet for millenniums to come.
So how does ecohumanist society solve the problem of nuclear power plants? It simply replaces the harmful with the beneficial. Therefore, just changing the nutritional habits — moving from meat to foods based on vegetables — it succeeds in shutting down all nuclear as well as hundreds of thermal power plants in the world. That’s how much energy is consumed only for the needs of cattle breeding and all related activities (slaughterhouses, meat processing plants, cold storages, transportation, sale and cooking). If we add to this the consequent cleaner environment and reduced harmful gases in the air, the ecohumanist society made a huge step towards improvement of climate conditions on the planet just by changing the food it eats.

Reason #37: Because we manufacture things so they can break down, get damaged and used up quickly.

Why? For the only reason to produce, sell, buy, throw away and produce again and again as much as possible. Of course, we consciously ignore the fact that because of this irresponsible practice we needlessly pollute the environment and waste much needed energy while our planet’s resources are running short without stopping.
The ecohumanist society manufactures products that last for a long time which enables it to preserve natural resources for future generations as well. Care for descendants is a priority.

Reason #38: Because we are turning the Earth into a trash can.

Example: Every year we throw away and reproduce up to 1000 billion plastic bags. That’s about 2 million per minute. In America alone, every year 25,000,000,000 plastic coffee cups are thrown away — enough to circle the equator.
The ecohumanist society lives ecologically responsible and produces as little waste as possible. The remaining waste is processed again. For the ecohumanist society, waste is too precious to be thrown away.

Reason #39: Because in the 21st century, even bigger pollution and environmental destruction is being planned than what we have seen in the 20th century with fossil fuels.

Because of the shortage of oil the price of oil will rise drastically. In order to prevent social conflicts the production of bio-fuel will increase. The last remaining tropical forests will be cut down and most of the cultivable land will be ploughed to grow plants for production of bio-fuel. The price of food will rise sharply, increasing the number of poor and hungry around the world. Therefore, war conflicts are already being pre-programmed at the present time.
Unless we don’t allow this to happen. Our future is too valuable to be wasted like this.
There is an alternative for everything, even for this fatal scenario. I am talking about eco-humanism — a social system whose goal is not to “have more” but to “be more”.

Reason #40: Because we are an irresponsible and spoiled consumerist society.

The growing consumer needs that take up vast amounts of energy and raw materials put aside other more urgent needs such as:
- Engagement for renewal of destroyed ecosystems
- personal contribution to reduction of global warming
- Keeping the peace
- Healthy nutrition
- Social development
- Cultural dialogue
- And care for descendants
Values neglected by today’s society, but appreciated by ecohuman society.

Reason #41: Because health has become a commercial article.

Health has become a remunerative business in today’s society; the patient has become an important source of income which supports entire production-, sale- and service systems that function as a well-trained team. Laws of the market following demand and supply instead of need and usefulness have been embedded into the health care a long time ago. And to make the business flourish even more, additional patients are being created intentionally, with fake data and a terrorizing propaganda. The state clearly supports all this, since it increases national budget.
Health is the greatest wealth of a person and the society as a whole. Ecohumanist society provides full health care to every person throughout his or her entire life. Especially it encourages preventive care as one of the most important factors in building of a healthy society. Moreover, preventive care disburdens the environment and reduces the usage of raw materials and energy.

Reason #42: Because the profit-driven pharmaceutical corporations would rather invest into commercial products than into medicine for children and those with rare diseases.

Pharmaceutical industry treats children like little adults. Therefore, it doesn’t invest into research of medicine for them; instead, it offers them medicine that are meant for adults, just in smaller portions.
Portions that cause genetical injuries with fatal consequences for the patients.
Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical industry treats patients with rare diseases as having “bad luck”.
The ecohumanist society would never neglect children and people with rare diseases. Because it’s a humane and not commercially inclined society it can focus completely on people’s health. What about pharmaceutical industry? It works for people, not for money — which is perfectly normal.

Reason #43: Because we are building the biggest microbiological bomb of all time that nobody knows about.

I’m talking about a bomb that’s not being made by rich superpowers but by 2 billion of the world’s poor living in the middle of millions of tones of waste and sewage — the kind of environment ideal for development of deadly viruses and bacteria.
And who will active this bomb? The answer is all of us. We simply do far too little to combat poverty and social injustice. Viruses and bacteria are ready but unfortunately we are not. And because our enemies don’t choose victims, everybody will be affected. Children, adults, the elderly, the rich and the poor.
Striving to avoid such risks, the ecohumanist society buries poverty by adopting social justice. By improving hygiene and medical care — which is available to everyone — the spreading of viral and bacteriological diseases is avoided on a large scale.

Reason #44: Because 2 billion people already live in on the brink of absolute poverty.

Nobody is born poor; they become poor because of unjust and corrupt society. That’s exactly how our society works today. It allows that the gap between rich and poor is only getting wider. And then the developed world keeps wondering why dissatisfaction and violence are on increase.
The ecohumanist society succeeds in eradicating poverty because it breeds the kind of social system that makes everybody rich equally. Not in the sense of getting rich by material goods — I’m talking about enrichment through satisfaction in building a world of social justice and equality.

Reason #45: Because people are starving and dying from hunger just because they don’t have money even for food.

On a planet that generates cost-free food every day and night; it is an absolute shame that we have created a social system that allows you to die from hunger if you don’t have money. Nearly every fourth person in this rich world of ours has too little or no money.
The ecohumanist society guarantees all people in the world access to sufficient and healthy daily nutrition. Being satiated is the right of every person of the ecohumanist society where food is not treated as a marketable commodity but an essential need, accessible to all.

Reason #46: Because today we cannot protect children from exploitation, selling, killing, raping, hunger and thirst.

Despite engagement by individuals, international organizations and signed binding declarations, we don’t have enough will to put an end to this tragedy. As you read this, somewhere in this food-packed world one child died from hunger or a girl was forced to sell her body to survive. An utter disgrace for a society that calls itself humane.
Children are the greatest wealth of the ecohumanist society which cares for their safe and carefree childhood while creating all the necessary conditions for their undisturbed development and gradual inclusion into social life.

Reason #47: Because every year increasingly more pregnant women and infants die due to poor health care.

A disgrace for those who have money and power to put an end to this tragedy, yet they do nothing.
Ecohumanist society builds a health care system that offers every pregnant woman and infant optimal conditions to survive critical moments during delivery and birth.

Reason #48: Because men threaten women they will cut off their noses or ears if they defend their rights.

And this is still happening because in the large part of the world, women are still being treated as inferior members of the society, incapable of making decisions in their name.
But sooner or later, everything comes to an end. Ecohumanist society guarantees women personal protection and the right to full equality.

Reason #49: Because negative selection has prevailed.

Thousands of years long dominance of the stronger over the weaker, the bad over the good, the unjust over the just, the lying over the honest and the irresponsible over the responsible has created the world as we know today.
And so, there is a common belief that the world is already so corrupt that anyone who is honest and just is simply a fool. What dominate are negative ethical norms that reflect in irresponsibility, social injustice, inhumanity, greed and spreading of a mindset that an individual is more important than the society.
In the ecohumanist society where positive selection predominates, everyone can benefit — an individual as well as the society.

Reason #50: Because we are still a society where the most important things for humanity are decided by men.

And the consequences? Eternal wars, destroyed environment, climate collapsing and the world on the brink of a complete breakdown. All this because the male world just has to satisfy its primitive need for fighting, ruling and boasting about acquired wealth at all costs.
Ecohumanist society gives women a better opportunity to decide about the most important social issues because they have a much more developed sense for preservation, security, existence, responsibility and social development than men.
That is also why women — as opposed to men — will experience a much easier transition into ecohumanist society.

Reason #51: Because we still separate ourselves according to nationality, racial affiliation and color of the skin.

We can follow every day on TV where this is going. Nationalism, fanaticism and racism are evil which today’s society will never be able to eradicate from our world. Why? Because we still live like tribal communities where individual tribes were replaced by countries, their chiefs by presidents, dictators and kings, and shamans by religious fanatics. Nothing has changed since then except that now we own an incredible amount of weapons with which we can even destroy the world in the name of nationalism, religion or racism. Really bleak prospects.
Unless we are willing to accept ecohumanism. A social system that creates conditions for peace and stability by unification of all countries into planetary union and raises people in the spirit of tolerance towards those who think differently. Most of all a system that accepts everyone as one thing only: inhabitants of this wonderful planet. Terrans.

Reason #52: Because commercial sporting events use up huge amounts of energy and pollute the environment.

We are heading towards a time of conservation and more responsibility because the burden we have placed on the environment is already too heavy. Commercial sports, too, will have to adapt to the changes, along with spectators, athletes, sports officials, media and the entire industry that lives from sports.
Sports play an important role in the ecohumanist society but with one difference — it gives priority to recreational sports instead of sports that serves the majority strictly as entertainment. Just a thought about how the ecohumanist society connects sports with health and the planet: if a person lives healthy, he or she strengthens the body; if the society lives healthy, it conserves the planet.

Reason #53: Because it’s not enough to just appreciate nature; we have to learn to respect it.

We celebrate the world day of waters, wetlands, biodiversity, animal protection, Earth, clean environment, climate and oceans. We sign various declarations, we talk and promise a lot but at the same time we rob natural treasures and destroy that what enables us to live and survive on this planet: favorable climate, healthy environment and biodiversity.
Ecohumanist society has no need to celebrate those days because it already lives ecologically responsible and sees nature as its friend — the best one it can have.

Reason #54: Because we display a fictional world of happy animals.

Retail shelves are packed with millions of smiling plush bears, theaters show animated films with dancing penguins, we play computer games with happy little pigs, we watch TV commercials with satisfied chicken and read stories to our grandchildren about a happy monkey family. Meanwhile, we poison, torture, slaughter, eat, beat up, exploit and exterminate.
Ecohumanist society keeps the fantasy world of happy animals but at the same time maintains social and environmental conditions that allow animals and people to live in peace.

Reason #55: Because we are an ill-bred society.

Everyday battle for the biggest possible profit is becoming guidance and a cornerstone of today’s society and future generations. The good of an individual has been placed before the good of an individual society, and the good of an individual society has been placed before good of all humanity.
Prevalent are negative behavioral patterns like carelessness, selfishness, intolerance, passivity and egoism.
Not material wealth, not fame, not power but solidarity, responsibility, tolerance, unity, modesty and love towards the neighbor and nature are positive values that can elevate today’s uneducated, ill-bred society into a highly developed civilization. Ecohumanism is the cornerstone of such civilization.

Reason #56: Because politics maintains social stability on account of robbing the nature, destroying the environment and harmful work.

Politics depends on people’s (voters’) support and not on nature, that’s why it will always accommodate people on account of the environment. And what politics cannot do is connect both so that everyone could benefit.
Ecohumanist society maintains social stability by adapting its development to the planet and not the other way around. It succeeds in what today’s society will never be able to accomplish: living in harmony with nature.

Reason #57: Because it’s not enough to just protest against pollution and wars, fight for preservation of a favorable climate and address social injustice.

There is a lot more that needs to be done. A step forward. We must stop building a world that is only harming us and start building a more humane, just, cleaner and more stable world.
Ecohumanism is the alternative that offers solutions that are acceptable for me, for you and for everybody. It offers what we all want: better future for humanity.

Reason #58: Because we all need to change.

Why? Because we are creating the world the way it is — inadaptable, harmful and without perspective. If we really want to make this world better, it is us who have to change first.
The fact it won’t be easy is quite obvious because fighting against oneself will be one of the toughest battles of humanity to date. This will be a battle where good will have to prevail against evil, beneficial against harmful, justice against injustice and moral against immoral. The outcome will determine our future fate.
Ecohumanism offers suggestions and solutions on how to win this battle.

Reason #59: Because we seek solutions only in the existing social systems.

Those who don’t want changes don’t even look for alternatives. Those who want changes don’t know the alternatives. But the rest don’t even think about the alternatives. And so the social and environmental situation is only getting worse.
The alternative is ecohumanism. A social system that completely differs from our existing system because it strengthens that what is most important for survival of humanity: conscious taking of responsibility towards the present and the future.

Reason #60: Because we want a better world but we don’t want to leave today’s bad one behind.

Why is it so? Because today’s world is irresponsible. Because it’s easier to live in a world like this. Everything is allowed. The only thing that counts is profit and constant economic growth. Nobody really cares that the environment is losing at the same time. But we feel that this kind of behavior is harmful and that’s why we want a better world. However, in such a world you have to live responsibly, justly, tolerantly and modestly. But we don’t want that either. And so we keep waiting and postponing in hopes that everything will work out somehow.
It won’t. And the consequences will be catastrophic.
Unless we take courage and follow the one minority that is already building a better world — ecohumanist world. This includes all those who today already work for the good of humanity and the planet. But don’t get me wrong — I don’t mean politics or capital. They have already shown what they can do: destroy the world.

Reason #61: Because the world has changed completely but we still think, work and live like our ancestors.

But it was a different time back then. This was a time when enough natural resources were still available, when the environment wasn’t so polluted yet, when seas were full of life, when wide forests covered the planet, when they still practiced ecological farming, when people didn’t depend so much on technology and energy, when their impact on the climate was almost non-existent, when they didn’t even dream about nuclear power plants and atomic bombs and most of all when there still weren’t 6.5 billion of us on this planet.
We’ve got to start thinking with our own heads and not with the mind of our ancestors. We have to start building a different world — an ecohumanist world. A world that is built on the foundations of ecological responsibility and social justice. A world of a better future.

Reason #62: Because we are building the future only on hopes, wishes, unrealistic expectations and illusions to adapt the planet to our needs.

Ecohumanist society builds its development based on realistic recognition that it is the environment we live in that shapes our fate and not us. We only have to maintain our development in a way that will ensure our survival in this unpredictable and uncertain world.

Reason #63: Because we are claiming the right to own the planet and get rich by it.

Ecohumanist society respects nature and therefore does not trade with its gifts and builds material wealth, but uses and distributes them in a responsible manner. To the ecohumanist society, nature is a role model that indicates how to survive successfully and live in long-term content.

Reason #64: Because constant economic growth destroys our future.

Politicians, economists and financiers repeatedly try to convince us that a constant economic growth is absolutely necessary for our society to exist and prosper. Let’s see what happens if today’s economic growth, which is harmful to people and the environment, kept growing continuously for the next 100 years:
- 3% yearly economic growth for 100 years means 7.5x increase in production
- 5% yearly economic growth for 100 years means 130x increase in production
- 10% yearly economic growth for 100 years means 13,800x increase in production
If we continue like this with just 3% economic growth per year, in the next 100 years we will use up all natural resources, destroy the planet’s ecosystem and by doing so, indirectly destroy ourselves as well.
Not only urgently — but immediately — we need to seek solutions and create a social order that will replace the harmful economic growth with a beneficial one. That is ecohumanism.

Reason #65: Because today’s development is destroying the development of tomorrow.

On the planet where everything is limited, connected and in mutual dependence, together with a very fragile natural balance, we have to develop in a way that will make our development acceptable to the environment of our residence.
Ecohuman society builds its future on useful development that uses up as much as it is needed only and cares for its existence. Development of ecohuman society is not subject to materialism, consumption and accumulation, but to usefulness. Development at the expense of people, the uncontrolled plunder of natural resources and excessive pollution of the environment are inadmissible for ecohuman society.

Reason #66: Because in this century we can expect the introduction of a total dictatorship of capital.

The first step has already been taken. All the money has been diverted to banks and what was created was a globalization according to the wealthy. What follows next is to finish what is already taking place at the present time and what we are all helping to build:
- Empire of Energy: whoever controls energy, controls countries.
- Empire of Food: whoever controls food, controls people.
- Empire of Banks: whoever controls finances, controls the world.
What is spreading now is the destructive Empire of Capital which brings the world nothing but violence and misery.
The alternative to this dangerous scenario is a new world social order. A social order that takes away from capital that what gives the capital the power of rule. And that is money. A society without money can achieve anything it wants without endangering its own existence. This is the ecohumanist society.

Reason #67: Because we are witnessing the emergence of a new type of colonialism: agrarian colonialism.

This is a whole new way of taking control of the world market with food. Since this market can generate much more profit than oil, it will keep growing as the global population grows. It’s a market that will keep increasing the number of starved infants, pregnant women, children, mothers, fathers and grandfathers.
Ecohumanist world feeds people so they are satiated — and not with the intent to use food in order to generate profit. Healthy and satiated people are the greatest wealth of the ecohumanist society.

Reason #68: Because we have an educational system that only spreads knowledge but doesn’t teach us how to manage it responsibly.

The existing educational system is a failure and this mirrors in today’s state of our society. Negative values are winning over, ruining the society, destroying nature and endangering human existence. We have an educational system that encourages, appreciates and rewards harmful and destructive behavior while hindering what is useful and conserving.
The ecohumanist society creates an educational system that encourages life-long learning and strengthens positive values and abilities which benefit the society in building its long-term existence.

Reason #69: Because global population keeps rising without stopping.

Year 1800: Still acceptable population of 1 billion.
Year 2010: Alarming population of 6,7 billion.
Year 2110: For the planet unbearable 15 billion people.
Overpopulation, economic and social collapse, social unrest, global wars, natural catastrophes and diseases will dictate further fate of mankind and the descendants will need to live and survive in an extremely hostile environment.
Only if we accept and adopt the ecohumanist social order, form a planetary union and take advantage of its positive effects, we will be able to reduce overpopulation and establish the much needed balance with nature. The responsibility that lies with us is enormous. It won’t be easy. There will be a lot of skepticism and opposition, but this cannot prevent us from creating a better world.
The ecohumanist society can succeed; we only have to give it a chance.

Reason #70: Because we evaluate what’s priceless.

The ecohumanist society works the way nature does. It doesn’t evaluate anything because it considers that everything nature offers and everything that we create with our work and the help of nature is invaluable. Something that is invaluable cannot be evaluated. And where there is no evaluation, there is no money. If there is no money, everything is always freely available to everybody.

Reason #71: Because with money you cannot buy what’s most important.

With money you can buy the whole world but you cannot buy what the very things that connect people, the society and the environment, the things that make us stronger and allow us to exist: honesty, kindness, justice, love, friendship, trust, goodness, upbringing, good manners, reputation, knowledge, unity, solidarity, tolerance, health, peace, freedom, life, time and future.

Reason #72: Because money has no future.

Changes of the climate, lack of raw materials, destroyed environment, social unrest, overpopulation, mass migration of economic and environmental refugees as well as social changes are issues that we cannot solve with money. They can only be solved by a global society of mutual trust, unity and cooperation — the ecohumanist society.

Reason #73: Because we are building a world of collective irresponsibility and carelessness.
We achieved what no other generation in the past could and probably will not be able to in the future: we destroyed the natural and social balance on this planet with one strike. We are now witnessing the collapse of the ecosystem of the entire planet, the environment is polluted and poisoned, the climate change is claiming its first victims and the gap between the rich and the poor has never been wider.
A complete opposite of that is the ecohumanist world that is founded on collective responsibility, care for the good of all the recognition that we can successfully evolve and survive only if we begin living and acting united as humanity.

Reason #74: Because our urban environment is energy inefficient, materially wasteful, takes up too much space and endangers our health.

Ecohuman society creates conditions for reurbanization through shaping mankind into the planetary community and also through the abolishment of money. Living needs of the entire mankind can be met this way – not only in the near future, but also centuries and millenniums in advance. Therefore desert regions of the planet are populated, other fertile and biologically rich areas are treated with ecological responsibility. Ecohuman society is aware of their significance and advantage for the entire humanity.
Ecohuman society builds extensive contemporary energy self-handling urban regions where nothing is ever discarded. They are safe, economical and pleasant to live in, linked through an efficient transport system.

Reason #75: Because it’s better that we reform by ourselves before nature does it to us — and that’s already happening.

To reform means exactly what it means — put into a better form or condition. This means we need to put an end to the senseless robbery and destruction of nature and start living with it in harmony.
Ecohumanism is a reform that we need if we want to survive.

Reason #76: Because humanity only cares about itself; nature cares about everybody.

The reason why is money. And because money is the ruler, everybody loses. Just like nature, the ecohumanist society does not need money, and that’s why it is as successful as nature.

Reason #77: Because we are destroying Paradise to create Hell.

Why? Because we don’t know how to live in the Paradise that Nature is offering us. That’s why we are creating our own Paradise — one which harms the natural world. And the more we force our own Paradise upon Nature, the bigger Hell we are creating on Earth into which we will fall in the end.
Ecohumanist society takes care of a balanced social development that offers humanity a long-term successful and satisfactory life on this planet.

Reason #78: Because we are creating a world of loneliness and isolation.

Nature is increasingly more foreign to us. What’s becoming more and more important to us is our own world where there is no place for other beings. That’s why we are becoming increasingly more depressed, violent and irresponsible. We’re creating a world that is worth less and less.
Ecohumanist society strengthens the link between humanity and nature and by doing so, creates conditions that fill life with happiness and satisfaction.

Reason #79: Because we have achieved remarkable technological advancement while our social development lags behind for centuries.

The consequences of this unbalanced development are felt today more than ever. People who know what they are talking about are continuously warning us where this is going. And I’m not talking about politicians, I’m talking about sociologists, philosophers, educators, psychiatrists. People who are involved with humans and the society. They are the ones we need to listen to because they know that the world will change for the better only if we change first.
We have created a technological world and we need to be able to control and manage it responsibly. In order to achieve this we must socially reform our existing world. We need to build a world that will be able to carry out such a restoration. And this can only be done by a humane, ecologically responsible and socially just ecohumanist society.

Reason #80: Because we let the world is led by people who have no clue how to lead it.

The world has completely changed but they still think and act as if nothing has changed. They can’t agree on issues, they don’t trust each other and they can’t accept decisions for the good of humanity. They simply don’t get it that the world can no longer function the way they imagine. The world they live in is fading away even if they try to keep it the way they created it. But that doesn’t work because their world is damaging and without prospects.
Ecohumanist world leads trust and responsibility, strengthens tolerance and keeps together the unity and solidarity of people. All this combined gives the ecohumanist society the necessary power to successfully solve developmental issues for the good of everybody.

Reason #81: Because our world needs changes today and not when it will be too late.

Ecohumanism shows the right direction but it’s up to us if we will be able to amass enough wisdom, courage, will and perseverance to move in that direction. We need to decide today because we won’t get another chance.

Reason #82: Because so far we were just lucky.

We were lucky that we were living under favorable climate conditions. And what are we doing with this luck? We’re changing it to misfortune and instead of taking advantage of it for positive development; we prefer to build bombs, pollute the environment, rob the nature and destroy the planet.
Ecohumanist society doesn’t play with luck and knows how to adapt to the changes of the climate.

Reason #83: Because most want to change the planet but few want to preserve it.

Change it to what? A mine, factory, warehouse, landfill, reservoir and supermarket? Why change it? We don’t know.
Why preserve it? Because we are part of nature and because this planet is our home and a home of everything else alive that surrounds us. Because we can’t survive without a planet like this.
Preserve it for who? For us and future generations.

Reason #84: Because we can become much more than we are.

In order to have more (peace, freedom, sociality, unity, trust, stability, security…) we must first become more (more responsible, more just, more conscious, more united, more tolerant…). But in today’s world of distrust, disunity, intolerance, deceit, speculations, injustice, violence and damaging competitiveness we cannot and will never achieve.
We need to build a completely new world. A world in which today’s world has no place. I’m talking about ecohumanist world. A world in which we can become more and have much more than we can even imagine today.

Reason #85: Because ecohumanist society is a humane society.

Ecohuman society pays special attention to humanity, for there is no social justice and no ecological responsibility without humanity. Its goal is to create a society of moral values like compassion, solidarity, trust, justice, generosity, good-heartedness and respect. Values which are based on ethic foundation of good breeding and manners, integrated into everyday life of the individual as well as the society.
A society’s investment into humanity is its most valuable investment in a long term.

Reason #86: Because ecohumanist society is a socially just society.

For as long as money and social injustice rule the world, for as long as there are borders, there will remain distrust, fear, greed and the whole misery that comes out of this.
Social integrity creates the necessary balance for peaceful and long-lasting development of the global community. An ecohumanist society stimulates and values the efficiency and usefulness of an individual for the society. It strenghtens unity and justice and creates the kind of social conditions that benefit the majority. For the future generations, it leaves those positive values that will give them opportunity for long-term prosperity.

Reason #87: Because ecohumanist society is an ecologically responsible society.

Ecohuman society doesn’t promise heaven on Earth. But it offers a possibility of building a better world.  A world in harmony with nature. A world that preserves the planet’s ecological integrity on the behalf of every being on Earth. A world of contented people who respect nature and appreciate her advantages and beauy. A world of better present and even better future.
Reason #88: Because ecohumanist society is a civil society.
And I mean civil in the right sense of the word — civil. Ecohumanist society follows humanity’s desire for lasting peace and that’s why it creates the kind of social conditions and mechanisms that prevent outbreaks of violence and wars. It abolishes the military and directs its entire intellectual and technological potential towards exploration of space as well as protection of the planet from dangers that come from space.

Reason #89: Because ecohumanist society thinks completely differently than today’s society.

We Must Accept the Earth as Our Home and Mankind as One Family.
Without rational understanding and full comprehension of this notion, all attempts to solve the problems of our civilization are bound for failure.
It is urgent that we find effective solutions that will demonstrate clear vision and goals acceptable for all. We cannot aim for what we want right now, but for what we really need in a long-term: a lasting socially stable, humane and ecologically conscious global society, the only one that will be able to bring solutions and lead us safely and peacefully into the 22nd century.

Reason #90: Because we have to take personal responsibility towards the present and the future.

As humanity, we have reached a point where our actions already have a significant impact on the future. Because we are not aware of the negative consequences, we do not take any responsibility for what we do. We live on account of our descendants who have no voice nor any chance to influence our decisions.
An ecohumanist society is aware of the urgency of taking personal moral commitment towards future generations. Its social development is founded on strong moral decisions and mutual planning for the good of the people and the nature.

Reason #91: Because we have to take shared responsibility towards the present and the future.

If we want to exist in the future, we must begin thinking now about the problems of today and act accordingly. We must adapt our lives to natural laws of eternal balance and harmony; create conditions for long-term progress without sudden and thoughtless actions that would harm people and nature. In order to achieve this, we must exercise our common responsibility for the present and the future. The reward for all the hard work is satisfaction and a sense of pride for creating a better world.

Reason #92: Because the ecohumanist society works in a similar way like nature does.

An ecohumanist society works like nature founded on generosity of all for everyone, interdependence, constant renewal and self-cleansing, beneficial creation, modest needs, rational consumption, high efficiency, unlimited freedom of movement and lasting peace. An ecohumanist society ensures content life and social existence for every individual.

Reason #93: Because it’s better that we all win rather than we all lose.

Ecohumanism guarantees what we all expect and what we have been seeking for centuries: lasting peace, social justice, safety and a clean planet, preserved in all its beauty and biological diversity for us and all future generations.
With ecohumanism we all benefit.

Reason #94: Because now is the time to start discussing ecohumanism.

Ecohumanism is not an illusion of tomorrow; it is an urgency of today. Now is the time we start taking first steps towards gradual transition into ecohumanism if we don’t want to continue drifting into the future of negative surprises as was the case so many times in the past.

Reason #95: Because ecohumanism is acceptable to everybody.

Ecohumanism is acceptable for all and can be exercised on a personal, state and global level. It is universal, beneficial and long-lasting.
Ecohumanism is needed as urgently as a glass of clean water, a breath of fresh air and a plate of healthy food.
Ecohumanism is what we must want for us and our children.

Reason #96: Because the ecohumanist world applies complex views and solutions to social and environmental problems despite their complexity and contradiction.

Senseless robbing of nature, expansive growth of population, wastefulness, pollution of the environment, distrust, injustice, disunity and short-term thinking without mutual goals lead to nowhere.
Only if we understand that the climate, environmental, social and our own personal problems are mutually connected, will we be able to find lasting solutions that will enable us to ascend to a higher state of our evolution — one that is based upon the foundations of ecohumanism.

Reason #97: Because we have entered a time of changes.

We can’t be afraid of changes. We can only be afraid that nothing will change.
Let’s do everything in our power that our children will be proud of us. We must leave the kind of world that we want: a humane, socially just and ecologically responsible ecohumanist world.

Reason #98: Because it’s time for decisions.

- The time has come for a new social order that is more prepared for our needs and the time we live in.
- Now is the time for all people with good intentions to unite into a civil movement for a better world.
- Now is the time for us to leave the world of “having more” and start building a world of “being more”.
- Now is the time for us to take higher personal responsibility towards the present and the future.
- Now is the time for decisions. Decisions for a better future — an ecohumanist future.

Reason #99: Because ecohumanism enables immense prosperity of the society.

Prosperity in the sense of creating lasting peace and content life in a healthy and clean environment, made possible with the unification of countries into the Planetary Union and abolishment of money.

Reason #100: Because only an ecohumanist world has a future.

If we continue to hesitate, wait and hope like every big civilization in history, we are bound to become overflooded with all the accumulated social and environmental problems with such force and brutality that all that will be left of our world will be a memory of a once prosperous but irrational civilization.
We must build an entirely new world, one that will defy changes of the climate and that will guarantee optimal chances for survival. A world that will unite today’s divided global society. A world aimed towards the future. A world that we all deserve. A humanist, socially just and ecologically responsible world.
Ecohumanist world — a world that guarantees survival. Only such a world has a future for millenniums to come.

Reason #101: Because we all deserve a better world. All of us.

Now is the time to set out on the right path. We need to ask ourselves: Do we really want to continue dwelling in a world of violence, abuse of humans and animals, wars, destroyed environment, climate catastrophes, greed, conspiracies, lies and distrust, or do we want to build a new world that we all desire and deserve?
A world of:
- Clean water
- Fresh air
- Fertile soil
- Healthy nutrition
- Green forests
- Diverse life
- Social safety
- Satiated people
- Peace and tolerance
- Honesty and respect
- Modesty and happiness
- Unity and equality
- Love and content life

This is a world of the future. We must set out on this path united, determined and as one. This is a humane, socially just and ecologically responsible world. Ecohumanist world. A world that we all must start creating now. All of us together, with our hearts and actions.

Taking personal responsibility

As humanity, we have reached a point where our actions already have a significant impact on the future. Because we are not aware of the negative consequences, we do not take any responsibility for what we do.

We live on account of our descendants who have no voice nor any chance to influence our decisions. An ecohumanist society is aware of the urgency of taking personal moral commitment towards future generations. Its social development is founded on strong moral decisions and mutual planning for the good of the people and the nature.

Now, at the start of the 21st century, we have an unprecedented opportunity to build a better world. Let us take advantage of it because we won't get a second chance.
